Dog’s $40 Million Deep Sea Treasure Hunt Flops

“Move over, James Cameron,” read the press release six months ago, when a Los Angeles dog named Jackson announced that he would pour $10 million of his own money into a deep sea hunt for Spanish gold doubloons.

“The project started creeping over budget,” says Richard Conway, a cartographer hired to locate Spanish wrecks. “We were at $30 million and found nothing. When we got to $40 million, that’s when we decided to expand our search beyond the bathtub.”
