Dog Ready for International Latin Dance Championship
by Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
After years of intensive training and backyard practice sessions, Dusty is ready to take the floor at the International Latin Dance Championships. Partner Elena Martinez has been dancing with the dog for four years – 28 years to Dusty, and she thinks now is their time.
“Dusty’s got the macho attitude that you need to be a master at the Latin dances,” she said. “And his body movement, especially with his tail, is incredible.”
Coach Rodrigo Molina agreed that Dusty and Elena could be champs this year if they can overcome one final challenge.
“Sometimes Dusty gets distracted by the sequins and fringe on the costumes” he said. “As long as he can stay focused on the dancing and not chase after Elena’s skirt, it’s a lock.”
