Tiny Finch Joins NBC’s ‘Today’ as Weather Bird
In what industry insiders are calling a completely unexpected move, NBC has hired a tiny finch with little on-air experience to handle weather updates for the third hour of Today each morning. Prior to landing this national gig, the finch was a weather analyst for NBC 5 in Dallas-Forth Worth, TX and a production assistant at a CBS affiliate in Oklahoma City, OK.
“I’m shocked,” said Tom Anders, a writer for Variety. "With so many talented on-air meteorologists to pull from at both the Weather Channel and NBC’s vast affiliate network, to hire a completely untested finch is completely baffling. Still, I wish him the best.“
