Dog and Cat Cover Gotye

June 2, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Dog and cat relationships never last.  Or that seems to be the message in this latest YouTube cover sensation, a dog and cat performing a faithful recreation of the music video for Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know.”

Glee, eat your heart out.

Dog Learns to Ride Bike, Humanity Doomed

May 17, 2012 · Leave a Comment

A dog named Norman has learned how to pedal a bicycle, and analysts the world over agree that humanity’s chances to remain Earth’s dominant species are now slim.

“Dogs already hear and smell better than us,” says Dr. Ronald Meyer. “They’re much cuter than humans. If they learn how to ride bikes, what’s left? We might as well just give up.”

Endangered Cloud Leopard Cub Finds His Tickle Spot

May 10, 2012 · Leave a Comment

It’s a little known fact about cloud leopards that each one has a tickle spot – an area on their body that when tickled can completely incapacitate the giant cat. In the video above, representatives from the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, WA demonstrate on a cub this non-lethal and completely humane way to absolutely delight these majestic beasts.

Anarchist Chicks Run Amok in Local Field

May 5, 2012 · Leave a Comment

A group of baby chicks were spotted terrorizing an open field Saturday afternoon. Authorities believe they may have ties to anarchist groups.

“They ran back and forth, just pecking at random things,” says Maria Ogden, an eye witness. “They had no demands, no agenda – they seemed to enjoy creating chaos.”

While there have been no arrests, sources say police have updated a number of watch lists.

Don’t Deprive Your Pup of DogTV

May 2, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Further evidence that the entertainment industry is going to the dogs: the nation’s first 24 hour television network aimed at canines has launched in San Diego.  If things go well in the test market, aptly named “DogTV” plans to expand nationwide.

The channel provides first-of-its-kind programming aimed specifically at dogs.  DogTV currently airs three types of programs: relaxation (soothing programs aimed at putting your pooch in a peaceful state), stimulation (simulated play with other dogs to get your pup off the couch and moving around), and exposure (meant to get your dog used to everyday situations, like riding in the car).  Using a mix of 3-6 minute segments – dogs apparently have people-sized attention spans – DogTV offers what it calls “just the right balance for the daily routines of our beloved ‘stay-at-home’ dogs.”

The channel also streams online.
