Bear Cub Buys Private Island With Lottery Winnings

Johnny Depp has one. Richard Branson has one. Celine Dion has one. Tyler Perry has one. And now Winnifred the bear is also the proud owner of a private island.

The bear cub reportedly paid $3.7 million for a four acre island in Puget Sound, capping off a lavish spending spree after striking it rich with a Mega Millions ticket late last year.

“She plans on using it as a retreat for herself and her friends,” said real estate agent Vivian Harden.  "You know, to get away from the hustle and bustle of zoo life.“

Capuchin Monkey Doesn’t Know What to Think About Manti Te’o Story

Steve, a capuchin monkey who lives in Berkley, CA, is actually a University of Alabama fan, so he was definitely rooting against Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o in the BCS Championship game.  But Steve is also a Buffalo Bills fan, and he wants the Bills to have a good draft in April.

Currently, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has Te’o predicted to go eighth to the Bills, who ranked second-to-last in rush defense in 2012.

“He’s monitoring the situation,” said close friend Jim Vitale. “He doesn’t know what to think about Te’o – whether he was complicit or just a victim.  Steve doesn’t think it’s his place to judge.  But as a football fan, he he really just hopes nothing changes that might cause Te’o to fall further in the draft.”

Otter Files Noise Complaint Over Neighbor’s Party

An otter named Samuel contacted authorities on Tuesday in an attempt to shut down a raucous party next door.

“The music was blasting – I think it was Party Rock Anthem on repeat,” says Henry Cobble, the police officer dispatched to the scene. “Samuel wasn’t the only one to complain. We had a few calls about it that night.”

Police were quick to shut the party down, mostly because of the noise, but also because LMFAO is terrible.
