Dog’s Diet Off to Rocky Start

A Chihuahua named Hamilton vowed to kick off his new diet on April 28th in the hope of shedding a few ounces in time for swimsuit season.

“He had a smoothie for breakfast and an egg white sandwich for lunch,” his roommate Samuel Riley tells The Fluffington Post. “But by 3 p.m., I found him in the snack closet, neck-deep in a bag of Cheetos. It was his look of utter regret that really got to me.”

Dog Training for Next NASA Mission

Move over Laika: one ambitious chihuahua is currently engaged in a rigorous training program in hopes of being considered for NASA’s next space mission. Pico, the dog in question, has been putting in hours a day on physical conditioning, including several stints in zero-gravity simulators. 

Trainer Allen Divers said Pico has the right stuff.

“He’s strong, he’s tough, and he’s smart,” Divers said. “By the time they’re ready to have astronauts join the Curiosity Rover on Mars, I think there’s a good chance that Pico’s going to be in that crew.”

Dog Loses Everything in Poker Game

It’ll be nothing but ramen and PB&J sandwiches for a few weeks while Lazlo the puppy gets back on his feet after losing everything in a game of high stakes poker.

The dog was up big at the $10,000 buy-in, no-limit table at the Bellagio resort last night when he decided to go all in on pocket aces. It looked like he had his opponent beat, but then that last card dropped.

“I thought he had me,” said fellow player Tommy Tran, who got the better of Laslo. “He flops a pair of twos and gets another ace on the turn to complete his full house and I knew I was cooked.”

But the river card was just what Tran needed: a diamond to finish his flush.

“Sometimes you have the cards, sometimes you don’t,” said Tran. “Sometimes you just get lucky. I got lucky last night.”

Dog Announces Permanent Vacation Until Winter Really Ends

Fed up with the endless cold and inexplicable snowfalls, local dog Sunny decided that the best course of action was a semi-permanent vacation to Florida. Sources said she will remain in or near the pool at the Miami Ritz Carlton until conditions improve. 

Owner Liz Hamilton supported her pup’s decision, and agreed to foot the bill for Sunny’s trip as long as she was allowed to join in the adventure. 

“This winter was the pits,” Hamilton said. “I was desperate to get out of Chicago, so this idea of staying in Florida until spring really shows up sounded pretty good.”

She said that based on recent temperature fluctuations, the pair may extend their stay until June or July. “Just to be safe,” Hamilton said. “I mean, it snowed in April!” 

Sunny and Hamilton have been taking the vacation social, sending poolside Snapchats to their roommate, Betsy Wilson, back in the Windy City.

When reached, Wilson declined to comment.
