Husky Kills at Open Mic
by Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
Aspiring blues singer and noted canine howler, Lupo the dog performed to universal acclaim at the open mic last night at Rose’s Lounge. The Memphis bar has the reputation of being a proving ground for the next generation of blues and folk acts and frequent guests include agents and festival organizers.
Friends close to Lupo said that a strong outing at the open mic could be the big career break he needs.
The dog performed a rousing rendition of the classic “Hound Dog,” as well as an original composition titled “Husky Pup Blues,” which was generally well received.
“I’m pretty impressed by Lupo so far,” said talent scout, Miles McGee, who attended the open mic. “He’s a little too well-domesticated to be a Howlin’ Wolf, but he’s still on the right track.”

Dog Roommates Fight Over Morning Bathroom Schedule
by Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
As the real estate market in San Francisco continues to constrict, more and more residents are returning to their family homes. That’s the situation that canine twins Rolf and Bowser found themselves in this summer when they both moved back in with their parents.
Although the family has mostly enjoyed the new-found sense of togetherness, it has made the morning routine in the bathroom somewhat complicated.
“You’d think that twins would be more comfortable sharing space with each other,” said Marly Akers, Bowser’s best friend. “But apparently, Rolf takes the longest showers in the morning.”
Eileen Shueman, Rolf’s best friend, disputes Akers’ statement.
“What? That’s absurd,” she told The Fluffington Post by email. “Furthmore, Bowser hogs the mirror every day!”
Apparently, efforts to create an equitable morning schedule have broken down.
The Fluffington Post will update this story as it develops…

Dog Takes NYC Vacation
by Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
Determined to make the most of his vacation time before winter weather set in, Hudson the dog decided to pack his bags last week and head for the Big Apple, the City that Never Sleeps, Gotham – New York, NY.
“He’d never visited New York before,” says friend Ben Roland.“He found a really great hotel deal on Groupon and decided to just go for it. I told him anyplace beat Boise this time of year.”
First on the Hudson’s itinerary was Times Square. After that, the pup hit the usual hotspots: Central Park, the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge. He even scouted out some authentic New York cuisine.
“He had pizza his first night,” says Roland. “Then pizza again the second. Actually, that was the only thing he ate. I’m surprised he even fit through the doggie door when he got back.”
