It’s hard to believe that just six months ago Paavo had never even heard of pilates. Today the French Bulldog wowed his classmates by holding a plank pose for 10 minutes.
“I’ve never seen someone build up core strength that quickly,” said instructor Denise Skoka. “I’ve been doing this for three years, and believe me when I tell you, what he’s is doing is simply astounding.”
According to Skoka, when Paavo first joined her weekly class at the local YMCA, he was a total novice.
“Forget planking for ten minutes, he could barely keep his hips aligned,” said Skoka. But Paavo kept at it, attending two classes per week – one at the Y and one with a private instructor – and filling in gaps by watching pilates videos streaming on YouTube.
“His improvement has been amazing,” Skoka continued. “I have students who have been doing this for years that he’s just blown past. I’m really proud of him.”
Friends say the dog is now talking mobile programming classes on Codecademy.com and plans to build an exercise app for canines.

In the midst of her morning fetch routine, Stella stumbled upon a handful of squirrels, one with a GoPro strapped to his head.
“They were filming their weekly YouTube show, Nutz4Sports,” says Leonard Katz, a source familiar with their work. “They were out in the field setting up a tiny paraglider when Stella spotted the camera.”
The show, published today, features about a minute and a half of footage with Stella’s nose poking in and out.
“The Nutz crew just rolled with it,” says Katz. “They’re great at improvising.”
