Dog Is Unashamed of Irish Heritage

Cady is Irish and she’s not afraid to let the world know it.  The area dog reportedly is so proud of her roots that she takes every opportunity to show it off.  

“It’s more than just wearing green, drinking Guiness and marking in the St. Patrick’s Day parade,” says friend and fellow Irish-American, Sylvia O’Shannon.  "Cady wants the world to know what being Irish really means.  She’s constantly talking about writers like James Joyce and Frank McCourt, about Irish discoveries like the pulsar and the electron, about the contributions to science by people like Robert Boyle and William Thompson and how Ireland has recently begun to rise as a European center for cloud computing.“

Dog Takes Nap After Long Day

For Otto, it was a long day at work.  The San Francisco native is a software tester in the SoMa district, and spent the entire morning chasing an elusive bug.  

“It was driving him nuts,” said colleague and cubicle mate, Alex Bjorn.  "Turned out to be an issue with how Firefox 12 was loading the JavaScript for one of the ad blocks on our about page.  I told him not to worry about it – with autoupdate, everyone will be on 13.1 soon enough, and FF12 was only like a thousand visits to that page.  But he insisted on figuring out a work around.  It wasn’t pretty, but he got it working.“

All that tedious coding took its toll on Otto, though.  "By the time he got home, he was wiped,” said roommate Sarah Oberon. “He came in the door, grabbed his favorite toy and plopped down in his bed.  He got maybe one good chew in before conking out.”

Bulldog No Longer Challenged By Her Work

A bulldog named Mac used to love her job. She basically streamlined the entire office, got rid of those paper files and switched the team over to Gmail (bye bye, Outlook).

But lately, she’s just not feeling challenged, according to co-workers.

“She loves this company, but the passion is gone,” says Amy Joseph, who sits one cube away. “I think she’s done all she can here. Without a promotion, it may be time for her to move on.”
