Like many looking for a paw in the door of the entertainment industry, Freddie applied for an internship that promised “regular performance experience.”

“He had no idea what he was signing up for,” says Chelsea Comack, a labor attorney who specializes in internship fraud. “The listing was purposefully vague, citing an unpaid fellowship with a theatrical production company.”

In reality, Freddie had unwittingly agreed to be shot out of a cannon three nights a week at the St. Augustine, FL Big Top Circus.

“We see these shady internship practices all the time,” Comack tells The Fluffington Post. “Freddie didn’t read the fine print when he signed up – and there was a lot of it. So he may not be able to take legal action here. But we’re looking into it.”

The Big Top Circus did not respond to our request for comment.

A hammock and a nice cold drink were no match for an all-too-familiar scent that came wafting in on Wednesday morning.

Cal, a local pup, had resolved to “turn off the world” during his much-needed vacation, according to sources close to the situation.

”That’s when the bacon started sizzling,” says Melanie Holbrook, a friend who witnessed the disturbance. “Cal almost fell out of the hammock. It was alarming.”

Reports from the scene indicate that Cal’s restful state quickly escalated to frenzy.

“It was like an electric current,” says Tony Northrup, an eye-witness. “Once the jolt hit, he couldn’t help himself.”

Sid dove right into his hard-won bag of treats after a marathon 10-hour trick-or-treating session on Halloween.

“He only stopped for bathroom breaks and re-fueled on the go right from his stash,” says Casey Morrigan, a neighbor who observed Sid on the street multiple times that night.

Sources familiar with the situation say the ravenous sugar binge has left Sid in a lethargic state, and he hasn’t left his bed in two days.

“Classic tummy ache,” says Roy Kramer, a friend who had checked in when Sid missed his yoga class. “He’ll be fine, he just ate too many biscuits in one shot.”
