Puppies Participate in Stuffed Duck Hunt
Duck hunting, once a proud aspect of dog culture immortalized in the 1984 Nintendo classic Duck Hunt, has come under fire in recent years by certain factions in the canine community. A growing number of dogs say the practice is barbaric and have organized groups to advocate for the rights of water fowl.
One such group, Dogs Against Duck Shoots (DADS) organized a “stuffed duck hunt” today, which they say is both more humane and just as much fun and exercise as a traditional duck hunt.
“It’s basically a big scavenger hunt,” said Selma Hawkins, a spokesperson for DADS. “The dogs run through the woods, they find the stuffed duck plushies and bring them back. It’s a lot of fun, without all the dog-on-duck violence.”

Bernese Mountain Dogs Finish First 5k
Ev and Biz, two Bernese Mountain Dogs from Rancho Cucamonga, CA, completed their first 5k today. The pair have been training diligently for two months to get this to point, gradually increasing the distance of their running each day.
“We’re really proud of them,” said race coordinator Quentin Allegré. “They’re the only dogs of their size to finisht this year, which is a real testament to the hard work they’ve put in.”
According to friends, Ev and Biz hope to someday run a full marathon, possibly with their friend and training partner, a Brittany Spaniel named Jack.

Doggie Designers Launch Home Decor Biz
Despite their obvious size disparity, interior decorators Apollo (right) and Athena (left) make a great team when it comes to room makeovers.
“They’ve been working independently for a few years now, but they ended up collaborating on a big project,” says Mary Selnak, a mutual friend who works in the floral business. “Apollo was great at big picture stuff and reaching high places. Athena could work on the small details and fit into the nooks that no one else can. They realized pretty quickly that they should go into business.”
This week marks the launch of their firm A&A Design, Ltd., along with a slew of branded home decor products exclusive to Target.
“With any luck, they’ll land an HGTV show by next summer,” says Selnak.

Doggie Dad Gets Father’s Day Tie for Third Straight Year
Ralph, a dog and father from Grand Rapids, MI, was given a tie for Father’s Day today for the third consecutive year.
Though appreciative of the gesture, sources tell The Fluffington Post that Ralph is kind of sick of ties.
“He has three now,” said our source. “He’s a dog, so I mean, he doesn’t wear ties most days. They really just go to waste. He does look smashing, though.”
