Area Puppy Still Recovering From July 4th Bash
A local shih-tzu named Alice is still a bit groggy two days after what neighbors are calling “an Independence Day blowout” of a party.
“It was absolutely off the hook,” says Simon Essex, one of the attendees. “There was a pool with a water slide, fireworks launching, BBQ, a live band, bouncy castle – Alice throws the best parties.”
But not all area residents were keen on the festivities. County police were called several times with noise complaints.
“We passed by and told Alice to lower the volume on the band and keep the fireworks to a minimum,” says officer Sam Ozluski. “But, everyone’s making a ton of noise on the 4th. It’s hard to really police it.”

Patriotic Pup Is Psyched for July 4th Parade
The annual 4th of July Parade is a bright spot on anyone’s social calendar, but for Tucker the dog, it is the best day of the year.
The pup has marched every year since he was born in 2010, and this year is no different. Tucker is actually unique among canines for his love of the holiday.
“Most dogs don’t like the 4th,” explained puppy expert Alison Crouse. “The fireworks are really scary, it’s easy to overeat on dropped hotdogs and feel sick, and the park is extra busy.”
But, according to friends, Tucker breaks the mold.
“He loves everything about it,” said Will Remmlick. “But most of all, it’s marching in the parade, showing off his patriotic spirit and licking as many people as he can.”
