Dog Steps on Crack, Mother’s Back Unaffected
A local dachshund was concerned about his mom when he inadvertently stepped on a crack in the pavement during a walk.
“He always thought that if you ‘step on a crack, you break your mother’s back,’ ” explains Kent Fogel, reciting the children’s playground rhyme. “He called his mom shortly after and she was fine. It was a big relief.”

OCD Pup Demands Perfect Grass
A French bulldog named Otto can be somewhat particular when it comes to lawn care.
“He’ll get right down in the sod to make sure that every blade is cut to the same height,” says Jeff Kelly, a source close to the situation. “If even one blade is too long or out of place, you’d better back up.”

STUDY: Kittens Healthier Than Soda
A 5-year study from the National Institutes of Health finds that kittens are much better for you than soda.
“Sodas are extremely high in sugar, whereas most kittens are sugar-free,” says Dr. Bertrand Oxmeyer, a lead researcher at the NIH who oversaw the study. “Consuming large quantities of sugar can lead to serious health problems – diabetes, obesity. By contrast, our study found that kittens are basically just adorable, and cause no adverse health effects.”
Critics of the study ask why the hell it took five years to figure this out.
