Shiba Comedy Duo ‘Promised’ Tonight Show After Leno

According to a report in Variety, Shiba Inu comedy duo Kiyomi and Taro have been promised by NBC executives that they will take over the the Tonight Show when Jay Leno’s current contract expires.  The plan is for Taro to sit in the host’s chair, while Kiyomi acts as a sidekick.  

The pair, who currently host a popular Internet-based talkshow, have tempered their excitement with a healthy dose of skepticism.  "We’ve been down this road before,“ said Alex Pearsoll, the pups’ publicist.  "We’ll believe it when it see it.”

Experts: When a Giant Dog Needs to Use the Shower, Let Him

After running numerous experiments and hypothetical scenarios, researchers at Dartmouth College have concluded that if a giant, 170-pound dog wants to use your shower, you shouldn’t give him any trouble about it.

“A dog like that is just going to do whatever it is he’s going to do,” says Dr. Christian Knopf, an animal psychologist who spearheaded the research. “I mean, you could try to talk him out of it, but we wouldn’t recommend that.”

Schnauzer Lands Crossing Guard Job

Despite the tough economy, Tommy the dog had no trouble locking down a job as a crossing guard for one of the town’s busiest intersections.

“He’s been fetching things back and forth for years and his resume was solid,” says Mark Fowler of the town council. “It was really a no-brainer,”

But not everyone agrees.

“He can’t even tell red from green,” says Molly Tambor, a concerned member of the PTA. “How is he supposed to guide kids safely when he can’t even read the traffic light?”
