Cat Hires Bunnies for Protection

Fearing harassment from the dog, area cat Zanzibar has hired a cadre of bunny rabbits as bodyguards.  

“Zan came to us for his security needs and we created a custom package for him that does include bunny rabbit guards,” confirmed Rob Carchman, CEO of Rabbit-Proof Security.  Carchman would not go into detail on the type or amount of personal protection hired by Zanzibar, but did say that he has full confidence that the dog will no longer be bothering his client.

The dog could not be reached for comment.

Squirrel Stuffs Mouth With Blueberries on a Dare

According to numerous reports, an area squirrel stuffed his face with at least seven blueberries as part of a dare from friend.  He then attempted to say, “Chubby Bunny,” which led to hysterics among his friends and near choking for the squirrel.

The squirrel was able to come through the game unharmed and set a campfire record for most blueberries.  The Fluffington Post does not recommend playing Chubby Bunny unsupervised.

Local Dog Strikes It Rich With Metal Detector

Many in his circle of friends scoffed when Arnold, a chocolate lab, bought a metal detector.  "I’ll admit it.  I laughed.  We all did,“ says friend Leo Porter.  "I though it was a waste of money.  Who really ever finds anything but junk with those things?”

But Arnold had the last laugh when late last week he found a cache of Spanish gold dubloons buried near his coastal South Carolina home.  The coins are estimated to be worth nearly $1 million and Arnold plans to auction them through Christie’s later this month.

Pickles has what some might call an off-beat sense of humor. The cat has earned a reputation as a teller of tall tales – the scary kind that give some kids nightmares.

“My son Bobby went for a play date over there,” says Katherine Harshaw, a neighbor. “He came back crying, saying he was scared of the ‘dead man’s heart.’ He hasn’t slept for weeks.”
