CNN Unveils All-Kitten Election Night Team
For the past few presidential elections, 24-hour news network CNN has been known for its Election Night technology. In 2008 the network debuted a studio filled with giant touch screens and contributors beamed in via hologram.
For 2012, CNN is pulling out all the stops. At a press event this morning in the company’s headquarters Atlanta, GA, the network unveiled its Election Night news team.
Gone are mainstays Wolf Blitzer, John King, Candy Crowley and Anderson Cooper – instead, CNN’s 18-straight hours of November 6 news coverage will be anchored by a team of kittens.
“Some might think it an extremely risky move to rely on a group of rookies for such a huge live news event,” said media gazer Ron Calumet, “but I think this is smart for CNN. They need something to energize ratings and kittens are really, really popular.”

Local Cat Scares “the Bejeesus” Out of Herself
A local cat named Winnie apparently gave herself quite a fright this evening. Following a round of post-trick-or-treating ghost stories with friends, Winnie had the house to herself and was getting ready for bed.
According to sources close to the situation, Winnie was about to brush her teeth when the lights in her bathroom flickered causing her eyes to momentarily glow orange in the vanity mirror. Not recognizing her own reflection at first, Winnie reportedly “freaked out” and hid under the bed.
We are told she is now resting easy and counting her Halloween treats to keep her mind off the events of the evening.

Puppy Startup Mogul Stays Humble Amid Success
Alonzo the puppy has been on a wild ride over the past year. After winning first prize at the TechCrunch 50 startup conference in 2011, Alonzo’s startup – a mobile service that offers rawhide bone delivery in San Francisco – scored a $1.5 million Series A investment around from top venture capitalists.
That led to features in Forbes, FastCompany and on numerous tech and canine lifestyle websites. A year later, the company is worth a reported $2 billion, is doing millions in sales each month and is raising another mega round of financing.
Alonzo is the toast of Silicon Valley, but according to friends, he has always stayed grounded.
“He never let his success go to his head,” said tech journalist Tony Wortheimer, who is working on a book about Alonzo’s rise to fame and fortune. "He’s just a regular dude who happens to run a billion dollar company.“
