Cat Installs Duck Blind in Kitchen

When a decades old ban on hunting in the kitchen was recently lifted, Olivia the cat rushed right out to Dick’s Sporting Goods to purchase what she needed.

She bought a lot of stuff, but her favorite purchase, according to friends, is the duck blind she installed near the refrigerator.

“She’ll hide in there for hours,” said Pamela Marquez, an associate of the kitty. “She runs from one end to the other, over and over, hoping to see a duck before it sees her.”

So far Olivia has not seen any ducks. We’re told they’re very rare indoors. She did snare a moth yesterday, but let it go after playing with it. Moths are protected under catch and release laws in this part of the house.

Cat Annihilates Paper Army in Explosive Showdown

Tensions between local paper dolls and a ginger cat have escalated to a “military conflict,” according to officials at the State Department.

“Diplomatic talks in the living room have disintegrated,” said Leonard Anderson of the Office of Press Relations in a briefing. “It’s unclear at this stage which party provoked the attack, but early reports show clear evidence the cat has decimated the paper army.”

A citizen journalist uploaded this footage to YouTube, but be warned: It can be graphic at times.

The State Department has made it clear the U.S. does not plan to intervene in the conflict without further investigation by UN inspectors on the ground. We will update this story we receive more information.

Photographer Cat Only Shoots Canon

Ella the cat doesn’t mess around when it comes to photography equipment. The kitty, who also serves as a sports photographer for Sports Illustrated, will only shoot Canon.

“It’s all about the autofocus,” said Jan Wassner, Ella’s boss at SI. “The Dual Pixel CMOS AF makes for a faster focus speed in the live view. That’s huge when you’re photographing fast-moving action.”

Plus, Ella apparently has a pretty gigantic lens collection, and there’s no good reason to switch to a new – and incompatible – camera body when she’s already so satisfied with Canon.

There are downsides, though. The AF on some of her older lenses can be noisy enough to spook Ella while shooting. She’s lost a few potentially great shots to scary autofocus motors.

Cat Can’t Control Whisker Cowlick

An area cat named Reginald is reportedly having a devil of a time controlling an unruly case of bed whiskers.

According to eyewitness accounts, Reggie has been battling his whisker cowlick for a couple of weeks. He’s attempted to control the renegade face hairs using a number of methods: combing with the grain, liberal use of hair gel and hair spray, a shorter whisker cut, etc. So far, nothing has worked.

“You go to sleep with wet whiskers one time and you pay for it for weeks,” said the cat’s roommate Jerry Gonsalves.
