Kitten Signs Record Deal With Internet Retailer
In a move that many industry watchers believe was a long-time coming, Internet retail giant Amazon.com announced today the formation of their own record label. The company already has its own movie studio and book publishing arm, so many feel that entering the music business makes sense.
Though the launch of the label was not unexpected, pundits and analysts were very surprised by the choice of first signed act. Amazon announced that it has signed a two record deal with a little known punk rock band fronted by a kitten from Pittsburgh, PA. The band, Cat Scratch Fever, is expected to drop its first EP in AmazonMP3 format sometime this summer.
