Cat’s Handcrafted Wood Furniture Is a Hit on Etsy
Smokey McWhiskers isn’t someone most people have heard of, but give it five years and he may just be a household name. McWhiskers’ handmade wood furniture is taking the online world by storm, and drawing heads in the multibillion dollar home decor industry.
“He’s already our fastest merchant to $1 million in sales,” said Etsy associate community manager, Tad Newberg. According to Newberg, McWhiskers hit that mark just 16 days after uploading his first chair and putting it on sale. High profile blog coverage on Luxist, Apartment Therapy and Re-Nest certainly helped get him there.
McWhiskers is said to be in talks with Crate and Barrel about creating a signature, mass produced line of tables, chairs and bed frames based on his designs, while Target has reportedly called about developing a more affordable spinoff.

In an exclusive interview with The Fluffington Post, Tommy the Pomeranian (“Tommy Pom” to his friends) revealed that he has been using his employer’s blogging platform to send private messages to Maddie the Coonhound, a fellow Tumblr super star. While the couple has never met IRL, they have been romantically linked online for nearly two months, and Mr. Pom confirmed that they are “exclusive.”
“A few of us in the office suspected it,” one Tumblr employee tells The FluffPo under condition of anonymity. “We always see Tommy looking at his Tumblr messages, then quickly switching to another window when someone walks by. He could probably be more discreet about it.”
Mr. Pom has accumulated tens of thousands of adoring female followers who will no doubt be disappointed to hear of his online love affair. But he felt the time had come to be honest with his fans.

An English bulldog is contesting a fine issued by the parks department of Selinsgrove, PA. Lucy stands firm in her belief that hunting plush flamingos violates no local or state game laws.
“My client is well versed in Pennsylvania hunting regulation,” says Bud Gomez, Lucy’s attorney. “Plush flamingos are not covered in the provisions for wild fowl. The whole thing is a big misunderstanding which we’re trying to clear up as soon as possible.”
