Cat Sushi Master Nears Perfection
Tumo, a sushi chef who currently works in a small, three table restaurant in Los Angeles, CA, is at the pinnacle of the sushi world – and is also a cat. Tumo’s restaurant, which does not take reservations, will often have lines of fans stretching around the block, everyone hoping to get a taste of what food writers have dubbed “sushi heaven.”
“The sushi is incredible. I’ve never tasted anything like it,” said a patron waiting in line on a recent Friday night. He had been waiting four hours and it did not get in. "It’s okay. You never know what it will happen,“ he said. "One of these days I’ll get here early enough to eat again. It’s totally worth it.”
Experts say that Tumo’s feline sensibilities make her naturally predisposed to creating great sushi. "Most cats are good at preparing seafood,“ said New York Times food critic Edward O’Day. "Tumo, of course, elevates it to an art form. That’s talent.”

Penguin Inspirational Speaker Draws Sell-Out Crowds
Magellan, an inspirational speaker and penguin from New South Wales in Australia, has been drawing sell-out crowds during his current American tour. At last night’s stop in Roanoke, VA, at least 2,000 birds showed up to hear him speak and tonight’s engagement in Baltimore, MD is standing room only.
“Mags is just charismatic,” said Newsday entertainment writer P.J. Giroux, who has been chronicling the bird’s rise to stardom for an upcoming tell-all biography. "He’s got something special. When he’s up there, he commands attention. All eyes are on Magellan.“

Lemur Family Can’t Decide Where to Vacation
A local ring-tailed lemur family is having a dickens of a time deciding where to go on vacation later this summer.
“As I understand it, they’ve narrowed their destination down to either San Francisco, CA or the Bahamas,” says travel agent Veronica Mahler. "But they’re split right down the middle on where to go.“
Mahler reports that elder lemurs in the family are favoring San Francisco for its museums and fine dining options, while younger generations of the lemur family just want to lounge on the beach.
"They better hurry up though,” says Mahler, “plane tickets are just getting more expensive by the day.”
