EXPERTS: Cat’s Hiding Spot Not That Good

According to a panel of scientists, this cat’s hiding spot is just not that great.  "Cats are often found in boxes, so it’s really the first place you should look,“ said one feline concealment expert in the report.  "That this cat chose to hide in a box really shows a lack of creativity.”

The cat could not be reached for comment.

Local Dog Falls Asleep Mid-Play

An area dog named Murphy fell asleep in the middle of playing today, according to multiple reports.  Apparently, Murphy was playing fetch with and chewing a rubber bone when all of a sudden he conked out on the grass.

“He was totally tuckered out,” said one eye witness.  "He was running around like a crazy puppy one minute, then sleeping soundly the next.“

Bird Nearly Mistaken for Tennis Ball

Tragedy almost struck the BB&T Atlanta Open this morning when a tournament participant nearly mistook an adorable baby bird for a tennis ball.

“Andy [Roddick] was about to serve when I yelled, ‘Wait! That’s a bird!’” explained ball boy Toby Sogarten. Apparently, Roddick was warming up and didn’t realize he had put a baby bird in his pocket instead of a ball.

“I knew something was wrong when I saw that he was about to serve a ‘ball’ with wings. Tennis balls don’t have wings,” recalled Sogarten.

Cat Emerges From Year in Isolation Tube

Cat scientist Milo emerged today from a tube-shaped isolation pod after spending nearly 12 months locked inside.  Milo lived in the tube as part of an experiment by NASA to see how cats react to living alone for extended periods of time.

“This type of data is crucial for any cat-led missions to Mars or the outer solar system,” said NASA researcher Chet Verbinski.  "Milo did very well living in the tube.  He mostly slept and played with his feather on a string.  I don’t think he really noticed that he was alone.“

NASA hopes to send cats to Mars by 2017.
