Puppy Wavers on Debt Ceiling Debate

A dappled dachshund named Harry remains undecided on whether the U.S. should raise its debt ceiling again. President Obama has been pushing for the raise, while many House Republicans remain staunchly against it.

“On one hand, he has serious concerns about our national debt,” says Oscar Simmons, a friend who often discusses politics with Harry over bacon. “On the other hand, it would be pretty disastrous if America defaulted on its loans. I know Harry plans to do a bit more reading on it. It’s a complicated issue, especially for an adorable puppy.”

Puppy Loves His New Moped

Italian puppy Giancarlo is the proud owner of a new Piaggio scooter, and he couldn’t be happier.  According to reports, Giancarlo uses the scooter for everything – commuting to work, picking up groceries, cruising around town, day trips to the coast.  

“It’s surprisingly versatile,” said Guiseppe Cicilline, a source close to the situation. “He really loves it.  Giancarlo really likes eating bugs, so this type of vehicle is perfect for him.”

Area Kitten Shocked People Still Care About Lance Armstrong

Local kitten Marney is sick of hearing about Lance Armstrong.  As people prepare to watch the exclusive interview between the disgraced athlete and Oprah, in which Armstrong is expected to admit to doping, Marney’s reaction is: yawn.

“She gave up on Lance years ago,” said Lizzy Goler, a source close to the situation.  "She was a big fan and cheered him on to his first five Tour de France titles. But then she started getting bored by cycling and when the doping stuff started to really come full bore, she just gave up.“

According to Goler, Marney does hope the interview goes well for Oprah.

"Marney’s a cat, so she doesn’t have a job and can’t afford cable.  She misses Oprah on network TV, but she wishes her well,” said Goler.  "She also hopes all the Armstrong drama and douchery – her word, not mine – won’t damage the good work that Livestrong does.“
