Rabbit Cereal Thief Caught
by Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
According to authorities, Scuttles the rabbit has finally been apprehended. The bunny is wanted in connection with a string of cereal thefts in Miami-Dade County over the past seven weeks.
“We found him going to town on a display of Shredded Wheat at the Publix on Biscayne,” says Sergeant Frank LeDoux of the Miami Police Department. “If it weren’t for the work of a few good samaritans, he’d likely still be at large.”
Scuttles is said to randomly choose his targets, and usually operates during the daytime. Witnesses tell The Fluffington Post that the bunny loves all cereals, but mostly those that stay crunchy in milk.
“We’re just glad he’s off the streets,” says LeDoux. “And yes, I understand the humor in a rabbit having an affinity for cereal. I’ve seen the commercials. The difference here is this rabbit wasn’t silly – he was simply dangerous.”
LeDoux could not comment further because he was called to assist with another reported theft involving an inept cookie-stealing dog.
