Local Beagle Stays Home from School Sick
The flu season is in full force around the country and it has hit the local Beagle population hard. Simpson got her flu shot in December, but that wasn’t enough to keep her from getting sick.
The puppy had to call out of school today and it’s not looking good for tomorrow, either.
“She’ll be okay,” said Melissa Anaroc, a friend who has been taking care of the dog. "A little chicken soup, a cold wash cloth on her head and some Tylenol and she’ll be right as rain.“
The puppy plans to email her teachers later to get tonight’s homework so she doesn’t fall behind.

According to multiple reports, a local cat has found a way to skip the gym and still maintain abs of steel.
“Basically, he found an old shopping bag that has a picture of this really buff guy on the front, and he sits in it. All day. Without moving,” said Laney Withers, who lives next door to the cat. "It’s really not a very good trick, and no one is buying it.“
The cat could not be reached for comment.

Puppy Has Trouble Landing VC Funding
Deefa, a local puppy and Internet engineer, is having a lot of trouble landing seed funding for his new startup, according to a report from Pando Daily. The puppy is currently seeking $50k in convertible notes to get his iPhone app – a social fire hydrant photo sharing and review service – off the ground.
“So far he’s had at least three promising meetings with angel investors,” said Pando writer Scott Willem, “but he has yet to actually get any commitments.”
Sources tell Willem that Deefa is very confused. He thinks he has a solid app idea, he’s tested am MVP version with real users and had solid results, and he’s wearing his hoodie. "He really can’t figure out why no one will write him a check,“ wrote Willem.
