Home-Schooled Kitten Wins Scritch National Spelling Bee
By mirandate, FluffPo Correspondent
It’s official. Another home-schooled kitten has taken the top prize at the 86th Annual Scritch National Spelling Bee. Geneva, a Russian Blue whose parents home school her in Lansing, Michigan, won the bee late in the fourth round when 8-year-old Hannah Lewis of Nebraska was eliminated on the word “shwarmerei."
Spelling coach Roslyn Morgenstern tells The Fluffington Post, "Geneva has been training hard for this moment almost from the moment she was weaned. That being said, I do think she got a little lucky when they gave her ‘klnnnnnnnmmkoiii’ as the last word. She almost slipped up and only spelled it with only six N’s.”

Dog Tests Wind Turbines for Green Energy Initiative
As a beneficiary of California’s new Green Jobs program, a cocker spaniel named Buffy is busy testing wind turbines in Morro Bay.
“We need to ensure the turbines are pushing their maximum output,” says Larry Grindholm, an engineer with the project. “If Buffy’s ears blow all the way back, we know we’re in good shape.”
A number of turbines have already been scrapped, as they could not lift Buffy’s floppy, furry ears above her snout.

Cat Finds Tiny Snowman ‘Creepy’
Tabitha the cat was unnerved to find a very tiny snowman appear outside her window early this morning. According to sources close to the situation, this is the third consecutive morning that such a small snowman has appeared.
“She keeps waking up and finding these little guys on her window sill,” said Miguel Perez, who lives next door to Tabitha. “She knocks them down but then they’re back the next morning. It’s totally creepy.”
