Local Puppy Backed Into Corner
Timbit isn’t known for making tough decisions, but the area puppy was forced to decide between asparagus and bacon late Sunday evening.
“The kitchen staff really backed him into a corner,” says Harry Sterling, an eye-witness. “No, literally, they got in his face with a stalk of asparagus and a plate of bacon and forced him to decide what he wanted for dinner. He chose the bacon – I’m not sure why he was so hesitant. I mean, come on. It’s bacon.”

Cats Claim Flower Pot by Eminent Domain
Two cats have laid claim to the flower pot on the front porch, claiming that the constitutional construct of eminent domain allows them legal right to seize the property.
“No. Definitely not,” said legal scholar Heidi Schiller, when asked if there was any legal merit to the cats’ position. “That’s not how eminent domain works. First of all, when you seize property in this way, you have to pay fair market value. It’s my understanding that the cats are just squatting and no transaction has taken place.
"Second, the land then has to be put to public use. I’ve seen no plans from these cats that indicate they intend to use the flower pot for anything other than napping. I fail to see how that benefits the public.
"Finally, and most importantly, eminent domain only applies to the government. So, no, this is totally illegal.”
It’s expected that the cats will be forced to vacate the flower pot by tomorrow, if they haven’t gotten bored and left on their own by then.

Old-Timey Dog Reflects on Simpler Times
Percival the dog remembers the good old days. Back when milk bones cost a nickel, and the newspaper business was strong, so there were plenty to chew on. Times were simpler back then.
And Percy will tell anyone who wants to listen all about it.
“Oh he’ll bark your ear off about the olden days if you let him,” said Spencer Houppert, a source close to the situation. “He’s big on nostalgia.”
According to Houppert, Percival is committed to the fashions of the day, too, often seen wearing a derby hat and plaid bow-tie.
“Though I can’t remember dogs ever wearing those,” said Houppert.
