Puppy Brothers Have ‘Epic’ Fight Over Bed

Dog brothers Colin and Clay had what witnesses are calling an “uncomfortable” shouting match over who got the comfy bed at a hotel last night. The two puppies are currently traveling with family, and checked into a hotel in Keystone, SD around 7 PM last night.

All was quiet until the puppy’s bedtime two hours later, then, according to witnesses, the brothers began to bark and yip at each other.

“It was very disruptive,” said Tom Cranston, whose room was two doors down. “They were really going at it. I almost complained, I really almost did.”

The dispute reportedly arose over who got to sleep in the bed, and who had to sleep in the cot brought up to the room by housekeeping. Eventually, the fight was settled when the puppies’ parents retrieved sleeping bags from the car and made both dogs sleep on the floor.

Cat Makes the Most of Summer

Area cat Martin is taking full of advantage of summer vacation. Martin, who works as a school bus monitor, has the entire summer off, and does not intend to lift a paw unless necessary.

Friends report that the kitty naps at least six to eight hours per day.

“He’s out there by the pool by 10 each morning,” said Lindsay Montross. “He’ll break for lunch around 1, then he’s back out there from 2 until dusk. Napping away in his camp chair.”

Of course, said friends, that’s not much different from his life during the school year, during which his job demands wakefulness in the mornings and afternoons, but generally allows for plenty of napping time during the day.

Local Cat Is Already Sick of Summer School

Classes only just began last week in the summer session at St. Bartholomew’s High School, but already a local kitty named Marianne wants them to be over.

The cat failed two subjects – biology and French – during the school year and must make them up this summer in order to avance a grade next fall. But, said friends, she’d much rather be at the beach.

“Who wouldn’t?” asked Tom Wills, who shared a locker with Marianne. “But she has no one to blame but herself. If she didn’t want to have to go to summer school, she should have showed up to class more.”
