Antioch, who will be competing in the Hamster Olympiad in Cardiff, Wales this week, has been eating a diet high in carbohydrates to ready for the competition. The Hamster Olympics, which are held every four years to coincide with the summer Olympic games, feature a number of events, including: wheel races and cage climbing.
“Annie burns a through a ton of energy in the endurance events in which she’s competing, like the 2500 meter wheel race,” said trainer Ryan Tasca. "The carbo-rich diet allows her to store more energy in her muscles prior to competition.“
