Known among ornithologists as the most body-conscious of the flightless birds, a growing trend among emus is to opt for plastic surgery. "They crave that ‘prehistoric’ look,“ said noted avian cosmetic surgeon Dr. Phillip Covey. Emu rhinoplasty was up 20% year-over-year in 2011, according to Covey.
