Kitty Rights Group Protests ‘Cat Hats’
Feline rights groups are up in paws over an alarming new fashion trend among dogs: cat hats. The style started showing up in Paris last fall, but has begun to spread to other parts of the globe. At least one cat hat boutique has opened up in Brooklyn, NY in the past month.
Felines for Universal Rights (FUR), an advocacy group that works for equal rights for all fluffy animals, has vehemently opposed the trend.
“It’s barbaric,” said Stephanie Day, a spokesperson for the group. “Cats are living, breathing creatures – they are not fashion accessories.”
No one in the cat hat industry could be reached for comment at press time.
