What Happens If You Give a Hamster a Cookie?

Everyone knows what happens if you give a mouse a cookie, thanks to the classic 1985 biocultural ecologic study of the same name.  But there is much less known about what happens when hamsters are fed baked goods.  Researchers at the University of Luxembourg are in phase 2 of their double blind study that hopes to answer that question.  They expect to finish their research within the next three months and plan to publish their findings in the scientific journal Higlights for Kids in 2013.

Intrepid Hamster Plans Road Trip to Living Room

James, a small hamster from the seaside town of Gloucester, MA, will attempt to cross the entire downstairs in what figures to be a harrowing three-day journey.  His trip will follow the path of his father’s famous 2009 expedition, and will take him through the kitchen, past the dining room, down the hall by the stairs and finally to the living room.  His father tragically fell into an air conditioning vent before making it to the summit of the recliner.

James plans to embark in mid-May once the winter weather has passed.
