Dog Hitchhikes Across America

Scoop the dog always wanted to see America. But not having a car – or a driver’s license – has made it difficult for Scoop to plan her dream vacation.

But this week, the pup has embarked on a four-month-long trip to see the country she loves by hitchhiking. Starting on the Pacific coast in Washington, Scoop plans to head down toward California before swinging out toward Vegas and out across the country.

The trip will end in the Florida Keys in late May.

Puppy Keeps an Eye on His Stock Portfolio

When it comes to building wealth, the high risk, high reward world of stocks is a great avenue to explore. Cooper, a Pug from Chicago, IL has been hooked on the markets ever since he opened an E*Trade account last year.

“He’s always on the computer checking his stocks,” said Eric Burke, a close friend. “And he’s got active investments in Asia, too, so he’s up all hours.”

While the dog has managed to build considerable wealth over the past 9 months, it has taken a toll. According to Burke the pup has lost a few friends because of his obsessive market-watching, and he’s starting to go prematurely gray around the tail area.

“All he ever talks about is stocks. It can get annoying,” said Burke. “Last week I asked Cooper if he wanted to go to the movies, and his response was to email me a chart detailing the stock performance of AMC Theaters vs. Netflix.”

Puppy Enjoys Ke$sha, Doesn’t Care Who Knows It

A local puppy named Ninja has revealed that he listens to music by the pop singer Ke$ha, and not by accident.

“We’ve all heard Ke$ha come on the radio and forgot to change the station. It happens,” says Ninja’s friend Daniel Kutcher. “But Ninja has whole albums saved to his iPhone. Even the B-sides. He jams out to ‘Dirty Love’ all the time!”

Ninja claims the songs are catchy, fun and all about youthful abandon. What’s so wrong with that?

“She has a dollar sign in her name,” says Leila Childress, music critic for Time Out New York. “That’s what’s wrong with that.”
