AP Hires First Dog Photojournalist

The Associated Press has announced the hire of their first ever canine photojournalist, a Jack Russell named Ginny. While some critics think the move is just a publicity stunt – the pup has an extremely popular Instagram feed – the AP insists she’s been hired on merit.

“Having quality photography is extremely important to us, especially as the mobile web gets more visual,” said Alina Hahn, a photography recruiter at the AP. “Make no mistake: this dog can shoot.”

The dog’s first assignment will be to cover the upcoming Master’s golf tournament.

Dog Auditions for Role in ‘Harry Potty’ Spin-offs

A puppy from New Jersey named Clover has a lot riding on the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. When more details of the series emerged a week ago, Clover made what could be a life altering decision: he’s going to audition.

“He’s a huge fan of Harry Potter, a 1930s buff and a closet crytozoologist,” said his agent Clarissa Bakó. “This is a natural fit for him.”

He will be auditioning for the part of Unicorn, though he’s also planning to read for the smaller part of a Mooncalf as a backup.

Local Dog Turns His Nose Up at Authority

Mason, a dog from sleepy beach town of Carpinteria, CA, doesn’t give much thought to the rules. The pup was spotted this morning taking a leisurely jog on a local beach that has a strict no-canine policy.

Some onlookers applauded Mason for making a bold statement about what they said are unfair rules, but friends say that wasn’t the point.

“He wasn’t making any sort of political appeal,” said Nora Sale, a close friend. “He just loves running on the beach and that one has the best sand. Plus, it also sometimes has these dried up old horseshoe crabs he likes to eat. It’s kinda gross, really.”
