Puppies Reenact Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’

In a YouTube video that has gone viral this week, two midwestern border collies named Skye and Safir created what critics are calling a “pitch-perfect rendition” of Michael Jackson’s iconic music video for “Thriller.” Their version, which has already racked up 2.1 million views, has been watched slightly less than the nearly 200 million times that the official original version has on YouTube, but is nonetheless impressive.

“We’ve seen a lot of ‘Thriller’ reenactments over the years,” said A. V. Club writer Sean Moorhouse. “From the annual Halloween parade in Lexington, KY, to flash mobs in New York City, to prisoners in the Philippines. But this one takes the cake for me.”

According a source close to the dogs, the pair worked on their moves for weeks.

“You think a dog can just roll up one day and shoot a nearly flawless tribute to the greatest music video of all time? Hardly,” said the source, who wished to remain anonymous. “Those two practiced every day for months. They rented this barn a few miles from their house so they could have privacy and they really got into it.”

The pups listened to the song and run through the moves up to 60 times each day, and would spend hours dissecting the film and watching the “Making of” video.

Next, the talented duo plans to tackle 1994’s iconic Spike Jonze video, Sabotage by the Beastie Boys.

Area Puppy Excited About Fall TV Lineup

Stella, a puppy from Queens, NY, has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of new TV programming this fall. She’s been glued to the couch for the premieres of the latest shows already and sources say she shows no signs of moving before sweeps.

Several of the new dramas caught Stella’s attention, but according to roommate Constance Madre, she is equally excited about the return of her old favorites.

“Stella’s got a couple great dramas that she’s coming back to,” Madre said. “She’s obsessed with Bones, and she won’t shut up about some show she’s been calling The Walking Dog. I’m not sure what channel that’s on, though. I’ve never heard of it.”

Puppy Not Happy About Moving, Redecorating Plans

After years spent in a spacious California home, Lily the dog is not thrilled about her family’s upcoming move to New York City. Sources familiar with the situation say that she’s disappointed that much of her favorite furniture will not be making the trip east.

“You know how most people have a favorite chair?” said family member Denia Wing. “Well from the moment we bought it, Lily decided that the whole couch was hers.”

The plush leather couch has been a focal point of the family’s California living room, and Lily wanted to bring it along. But Wing opted to redecorate once they reach their new digs.

“It’s just not practical in the tiny new apartment to have such a huge sectional,” Wing said. “Lily’s not happy about leaving it here, but I’m sure sure we can find another nice couch in New York.”
