"American sensibilities are just not ready for the full-on Cruella de Vil look just yet,“ said Mademoiselle assistant editor Joanie Ashworth. "You can’t just bring things stateside that are popular in Europe and hope they’ll be a success… sometimes you have to wait for the culture to catch up. This is one of those times.”

Until now, it was thought dogs could never master the fabric arts. But a pup named Gaston has sent shock waves through the crafting community when he began embroidering messages on throw pillows.
“He’s communicating the best way he knows how,” says Lief Anne Stiles, a source close to the situation. “Through handicrafts.”
