Pomeranian Plans to Climb Mountain

A pomeranian puppy named Pommer is making preparations to climb Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and the highest point in the province of Alberta.  The puppy is currently practicing his climbing on smaller peaks and plans to attempt the summit of Robson in August when the weather is at its most mild.

“Robson is a dangerous mountain,” said Tammy Hall, president of the Canadian Canine Climbing Cooperative. “Only about 10% of attempts are successful.  But Pommer is a very experience climber – I think he’ll make it.”

Puppy Sleeps Through Bar Exam

Cody the puppy was all ready to take the next step in his legal career. He had put in the weeks of studying, sharpened his no. 2 pencils, and paid the mandatory $500 fee. And now, he was prepared the take the biggest test of his life: the dreaded bar exam. That was, until disaster struck.

“We were going to take it together,” says Harry Waldrup, a friend and law school classmate. “I told him, ‘don’t be late for this, it’s really important.’ I thought he got the message. But no. He slept right through the whole thing.”

Dog Is Enjoying Retired Life

Last year, when Crowley retired from his job as a mailman harrier, he wasn’t sure what he would do to pass his time. “It was forced retirement,” says long-time friend Olga Thornton.  "He didn’t want to leave, but if he wanted to collect his pension, he had to.“

These days, though, Crowley is loving the retired life.  He’s recently completed a move to Boca Raton, FL, where he spends most of his time by the pool, at the buffet, or tearing up the shuffle board court (literally – he loves to chew on it).

"If you’d told me three months ago that Crowley would love being retired, I’d have laughed,” says Thornton. “He was always so dedicated to his work, and full of energy.  But he’s really taken a shine to the lifestyle.  I think these are the best years of his life.”

Puppy Photographer Goes to Great Lengths for Perfect Shot

Angus, a photographer and noted puppy from Berlin, Germany, is always after the perfect picture – and he’ll do whatever it takes to get it.  Recently, that has meant wearing a head-mounted camera everywhere he goes, 24/7, so that he always has his camera at the ready should a great shot develop.

“Well, he’s a dog, so he doesn’t have pockets,” said friend Henrik Eichel. “This was the only way we could think to keep his camera with him, ready to shoot at any moment.”
