Bulldog Plans Action to Save Local Park
A politically active English bulldog named Griffin is organizing a rally tonight at the local dog park in an effort to save the park from destruction. The public park, which has been facing years of neglect due to budgetary shortfalls, is set to be demolished and sold to private investors in October unless the city can come up with the $1.5 million needed to save it.
“Griff isn’t going to stand idly by while his favorite community spot is turned into a high rise apartment building,” said Save the Dog Park campaign spokesperson Andy Lipton. "If he can get 1500 signatures on his petition by Sunday, we should be able to force a stay on demolition that will at least buy us some time to figure out how to raise the money we need to save the park.“
The rally starts at 8pm.
