STUDY: Frisky Kitties Are Happier Kitties

New research from The Institute for Animal Well-Being finds that cats who jump around frenetically and play with inanimate objects are four to five times happier than kitties who loaf around all day.

“How do we determine a cat’s happiness?” posits Dr. Cole Farmer, who conducted the study. “We ask them about their day, their aspirations, their sleep habits. It’s a lot of data to compile, and I don’t want to bore you with the minutiae. We just know, OK?”

Area Cat Shocked by Latest ‘Mad Men’ Episode

A cat named Falstaff was taken aback by the developments in the most recent episode of AMC’s popular drama Mad Men.

“That one scene – you know the one – where they finally find out what happened,” says Margie Canon, a family friend. “That really messed Falstaff up. He couldn’t sleep at all that night. Just kept thinking about it.”

Cat Named Ambassador to Mexico

In an unexpected diplomatic move, the U.S. State Department has announced its newest ambassador to Mexico – a cat named Henry.

In a prepared statement, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lauded the nomination:

“Henry will serve as a vital link between the United States and Mexico. His landmark work in dog/cat relations will ensure a continued productive dialogue with our neighbors to the south.”
