Daredevil Cat Plans Epic Motorcycle Jump

Well-known stunt cat and daredevil, Kitty Knieval, is in the final stages of planning for an epic, record-setting motorcycle jump attempt.  The jump, which is between the dining room table and the couch, over a mess of toys left out on the rug, will be televised live on the FX network on July 4th.

“Kitty is pumped about the jump,” says chief safety coordinator Lance Davidoff.  "We’ve been doing dry runs and safety checks all week, and I think he’s just amped to get it done.“

The stunt will be broadcast live at 4pm with a concert from Aerosmith a half hour before.

Hikers Lost for Hours Because of Cat

“In retrospect, we probably shouldn’t have let Elvis be the navigator,” said Brad Mills after being lost in the woods for nearly eight hours on Saturday.  That’s because Elvis is a cat and his navigation skills are sub-par, at best.  

After following directions mapped out by the feline, Mills, Elvis and two other friends trekked out into the South Dakota wilderness for what was supposed to be a short day hike. A couple of hours later, it was clear that they were lost and Elvis had no idea how to read maps.

The group was able to finally get their bearings after coming across a fire tower that had a cellular installation.

USPS Fires Kitten Mail Sorters for Napping on the Job

The United States Postal Service has laid off two kitten mail sorters for napping on the job, The Fluffington Post as learned.  According to sources, the pair was caught asleep amid a pile of unsorted letters and boxes on Monday, the third such incident in the past week.  

Avid readers of this site will remember that this is not the first time the USPS has had to let go of animal employees for poor job performance.  In May, the Postal Service fired a bunny rabbit after he was discovered eating mail.  Which, of course, raises the question: Why does the USPS keep hiring pets?

“This is just another example of the gross mismanagement at the post office,” said James Bing, a conservative radio host from Tempe, AZ who is in favor of shutting down the USPS completely.

Others aren’t so sure. “Cute animals can boost the morale of everyone in a workplace,” said pet psychologist Anna-Marie Templeton.  "Sure they may be lousy workers themselves, but they can more than make up for that with productivity gains realized among other employees.“  Templeton believes the USPS might be hiring pet workers to keep others from "going postal.”

The USPS could not be reached for comment.
