Experts: 3D Cat Printing Will Be a Reality Within 5 Years

3D printing is poised to revolutionize commerce and creativity. Pick out a pair of shoes online and watch them materialize from your printer within an hour. Housewares, clothing, toys – even 3D printed food is now within the reach of consumers.

But printing living things? It may be closer than you think.

“Cats have a unique physiology that lends them to printing,” says technology expert Ray Corey. “Need a new cat? Just pull up some cat customization software, hit the print button, and bam. I’m confident this kind of tech will be in every home by the year 2017.”

Dog and Cat to Star in New NBC Buddy Comedy

What happens when touchy roommates are made to fight crime together on the same police squad? We’ll find out this fall on the forthcoming NBC buddy cop comedy The Fuzz.

Baxter the dog and Charlie the cat play Banks and Wiggles, two tough cops on the Toronto beat who are fated to live and work together, despite their differences.

“One’s a dog and one’s a cat,” says the show’s head writer Cliff Long. “I mean, that’s comedy gold right there. I don’t even know how we come up with this stuff.”

The Fuzz will air Wednesday nights at 9 pm ET.

Cat-Powered Laser Show a Hit for Touring Band

British indie rock band The Gemstones can barely afford to tour, let alone set up a fancy lighting rig. Fortunately, their manager has discovered a low-cost way to generate an exciting laser show to compliment gigs.

“The light that reflects from cats’ eyes is a great substitute,” says Clive Silkwood, who’s managed the band since 2007. “You’ve just got to position about 20 cats around the stage and get them to stand still during the entire set. It’s a real pain sometimes, but it’s cheaper than a light crew.”
