Mall Santa Fired for Peeing on Christmas Tree
A mall in Seattle, WA was the scene of a holiday kerfuffle when security guards escorted a chihuahua named Mildred out of the complex.
“She was working as a Santa for the season, and one of the parents saw her peeing on the Christmas tree during a break,” says Martin Kaufman, head of security at Westfield Southcenter. “She was just marking her territory, but rules are rules.”

13 Years Later: Cat Finally Watches Super Bowl XXXIV
Even thought Super Bowl XXXIV aired almost 13 years ago in the year 2000, Harry the cat had never seen it. He always meant to, said friends, but he had to work that night, so he TiVoed it, and there the recording has sat, on his TiVo hard drive for over a decade.
Last night, when warm milk failed to settle his stomach after eating some bad tuna, Harry decided to watch Super Bowl XXXIV until he felt well enough to sleep.
“I don’t think he really cared about the game – I mean, even if he was a fan of the Rams or the Titans, which I don’t think he is, that game was so long ago none of those players are probably even still playing,” said Harry’s roommate, Fred Sargen. "He was totally interested in the commercials, though.“
According to Sargen, Harry was overjoyed to finally understand why everyone a decade ago walked around saying, "Wassup!!” all the time.
“Unfortunately for the rest of us,” he continued, “now Harry won’t stop walking around the house with his tongue out repeating a 13-year-old beer commercial catchphrase.”

Puppy Sets Personal Fitness Record
For the past three weeks Wiggum, a Pekinese-Pug mix, has been wearing an Up collar from Jawbone. The collar tracks his movement, along with his sleep, meals and mood, to give him a holistic view of his health and fitness. Yesterday, after syncing the bracelet to his iPhone after supper, Wiggum was overjoyed to find out that he’d set a new personal best of 12,586 steps taken, the equivalent of walking over 6 miles.
“He was pretty psyched,” said Lindsay Peters, a source close to the situation. "But he was also really tired. I think he set a record for sleeping, too.“

Cat Finds Success With Self-Published E-Book
Victor the cat always wanted to be a published author, but when his manuscript was rejected by publisher after publisher he thought he may have to give up that dream.
“He despaired after he received all those ‘no thank you’ letters,” said Whitney Garcia, a member of the local writer’s group where Victor has been workshopping his manuscript. "But then someone in the group introduced him to e-books and self publishing. It was a whole new world for Victor and he really took to it.“
According to friends, Victor read everything he could find online about creating and selling an e-book and settled on putting out his book, 101 Ways to Prepare Canned Tuna, on the Amazon Kindle platform for ninety-nine cents. In large part due to his solid social media strategy and active participation on the Goodreads social network, Victor’s book has been a hit.
"Last I talked to him he’d already sold eleven copies,” said Garcia. "After’s Amazon’s cut he’s made almost $8. That’s a fortune for a cat.“
