Cat Calls Dibs on Sunniest Spot in Apartment

Manhattan cat Joey has carefully surveyed every square inch of his West Village apartment to determine the spot with the most sun. His detailed research revealed that the couch cushion closest to the living room window offered the best balance of sunshine to comfort, along with the perfect TV viewing angle and minimal glare.

Since identifying that spot, Joey has refused to move, according to sources close to the situation.

Roommate Natalie Alize said Joey’s claim over the spot was creating some tension in the apartment.

“I had friends over to watch TV last night and Joey wouldn’t budge,” she said. “It’s one thing for him to sit there during the day when I’m at work, but he keeps active dibs on the spot even when the sun’s gone down. He just really, really likes that spot.”

Coworkers Call Cat’s Unorthodox Filing System Into Question

Colleagues at the Price-Rite supermarket where Lola the cat is an assistant manager are questioning the cat’s rather unusual filing system. Problems started to arise when Lola when on vacation a two weeks ago and coworkers had trouble figuring out where important documents and invoices pertaining to certain distributors were found.

“It was madness,” said Dwayne Spellman, another assistant manager who covered for a couple of Lola’s shifts while she was out. “Okay, for example, she had our tuna distributors under ’D’ for ‘delicious,’ and the company we get grapefruits from was under ‘I’ for ‘icky.’ In what world does that make sense?”

Lola could not be reached for comment but store manager Sally Vogelsong offered a lukewarm defense.

“Look, are we going to have to update all the files? Yes, and it’s going to cost us,” she said, “but we never had any problems with Lola’s system until she went on vacation.”
