Kitten Marriages On the Rise in Lancaster County
Statistics from the Pennsylvania Dutch Accounting Initiative show that kitten marriages among the Amish are on the rise. Last year at this time only three Amish Mennonite kitten couples had tied the knot. This year there have already been 7 cat weddings in Pennsylvania and 3 more in Amish communities in Ohio.
Researchers attribute the rise to normal generational fluctuations.

Can’t find the perfect pair of jeans to fit your cat? You’re not alone. According research from the National Association of Animal Clothiers, cats have a very difficult time finding jeans that fit well. "Kittens are notoriously hard to clothe,“ says Julia Greenberg, Chairwoman of NAAC. "With their slender hips, varying levels of fur ‘poof’ and of course, tails, it can be almost impossible for a cat to find jeans that fit snugly yet don’t restrict motion.”
But don’t worry – help is on the way, says Greenberg. New technology – such as hyper accurate body scans – could hold the solution to the pursuit of perfect kitty jeans.

Though most of her friends find her doll collection kind of creepy, Felini, a kitty from Sioux Fall, SD, refuses to give it up. "It’s just weird. A cat with so many stuffed cats,“ says neighbor Erica Stargell. "I mean a stuffed mouse? Sure. Heck, maybe it’s not even that they’re cats that makes it so weird. But they all look like her.”
