Emre, a cat who lives in the Beyoğlu district in Istanbul, Turkey, is well known by locals. He can generally be found holding court on Fridays and Saturdays in front of Okruk’s, a cafe on İstiklal Avenue. 

“Oh everyone knows Emre,” said Sidika Marangoz, who works in a nearby office building. “I always make it a point to stop by Omkruk’s for coffee on Friday mornings to hang out with Emre.”

According to Marangoz, the cat has perfected the art of slow living, taking things as they come.

“He’s very zen,” she said. “I’ve learned so much from him and how to keep city life from stressing me out. He also gives great relationship advice.”
