Ronald the cat is suing the makers of the “Ocean Sensations” cat food as well as several area pet stores that carry it on the grounds of what his attorneys claim is unauthorized use of his likeness.

“Ronald has a pretty active social media presence,” said Carol Detweiler, the head of the cat’s legal team, “and it’s clear that the cat food company took a photo from his feed and photoshopped it for the box art and advertising.” 

A spokesperson for the company said, in part, that the claims were “preposterous.” 

“We flatly deny using Ronald’s likeness. The cat on our boxes is clearly named Felix. He’s a totally different cat,” said the spokesperson.

Ronald’s lawyers aren’t buying it.

“Unless they can produce this ‘Felix,’ we don’t believe for a second that this isn’t Ronald,” said Detweiler. “We’ve retained the services of a forensic photo expert who will testify under oath that there is 99% certainty that this is a photo of Ronald from his Instagram, with some minor photoshop touch ups.”

The cat is seeking $5M in damages.

When Floof awoke on Wednesday morning, the first thing she saw was a yard blanketed in snow. The next thing she saw was her local news broadcast.

“School was cancelled almost immediately,” says Fiona Teagen, the kitten’s friend and roommate. “Floof went bananas, she was so excited. She was doing laps around the apartment.”

A day without pencils, books and teachers’ dirty looks was music to her fluffy, triangular ears. Sources close to the situation tell The Fluffington Post that Floof spent most of the day ogling the snowy landscape and sipping hot cocoa in front of her comic books, quietly snickering to herself every other page.

Isaac, a tabby from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is resting comfortably at home today after being stuck to a flagpole for eight hours on Sunday. The cat reportedly affixed his tongue to the pole as part of a schoolyard dare gone horribly wrong.

“I mean, it was a triple dog dare,” said eight-year-old witness Kyle Boucher, “so he couldn’t really say no.”

Experts agree. Dr. Carolyn Rivera, a professor of adolescent psychology at the University of Indiana who specializes in schoolyard taunts told The Fluffington Post that the “triple dog dare” is the most serious on the dare spectrum.

“Things usually elevate progressively,” she said by phone. “You start with a dare, then a double and triple before progressing to the ‘dog’ dares, which follow a similar pattern. By the time you get to a dare of the ‘triple dog’ variety, it’s almost impossible to refuse.”

The cat was removed the flagpole by paramedics and is expected to make a full recovery.
