Anarchist Chicks Run Amok in Local Field

May 5, 2012 · Leave a Comment

A group of baby chicks were spotted terrorizing an open field Saturday afternoon. Authorities believe they may have ties to anarchist groups.

“They ran back and forth, just pecking at random things,” says Maria Ogden, an eye witness. “They had no demands, no agenda – they seemed to enjoy creating chaos.”

While there have been no arrests, sources say police have updated a number of watch lists.

Duckling Addresses Colleagues at BirdCon 2012

A duckling named Bombay was the keynote speaker at this year’s BirdCon. The conference/trade show is the premiere event for bird professionals, where fowl of all stripes can mingle, network and show off their wares.

Despite his youth, Bombay has had great success as a bird, and he shared key life lessons with his colleagues.

Influential Scientific Paper Written by Parakeet

The academic community was rocked Tuesday afternoon when respected biologist Dr. Jeffrey Franz admitted that he is not the author of a critical thesis on toxicology.

“I have lived with this shame for two years,” Franz told reporters at a press conference. “And I can’t deny Ziggy his due any longer.”

He was referring to his colleague, Dr. Ziggy, a parakeet who has studied the effects of pollutants on marine life his entire career. His authorship of the paper has been restored, and the Global Science Tribunal will consider revoking Dr. Franz’s membership card in the coming weeks.

Ducklings Set to Explore the Backyard

Brave ducklings Vasco and Ferdinand are set to embark on a 3-month journey to the farthest reaches of the backyard.  Their voyage, which is backed by a writ of passage from the Queen of Spain, will leave from the patio, make its way along the side fence to the bird bath and then follow the slate path to the pergola.

Their goal is to find a quicker land route to the vegetable garden.

Amazing Parakeet Knows Songs, Catch Phrases

April 11, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Disco, a 2-year-old parakeet from Rochester, NY, is no bird brain. He can remember and recite The Flinstones theme song and popular catch phrases from movies and television.

“Some people have asked us if he’s a fake, if we’re just making the voice for him,” says Judy Bolton, a source close to the situation. “But they underestimate the abilities of parakeets.”
