TIP: Use Cats to Organize Your Home Office
According to a new white paper from the International Society of Organizational Professionals, cats can be a great tool for fighting office clutter. "We found that when utilized properly, cats can actually increase worker output because of productivity gains realized by better organization,“ said ISOP president Hans Molasky.
Of course, organization comes with a price. Molasky admits that while cats can make your office easier to navigate, they can also be quite distracting and sometimes fall asleep on your keyboard.

Cat Fired From Gossip Blog Gawker for Snoozing on the Job
According to numerous reports, Mittens, a 3-month old Japanese Bobtail kitten was fired from her position as a contributing editor at gossip blog Gawker for napping on the job. Sources say this wasn’t the first sleeping incident, but NYU assistant professor of feline media, Tony Selznik, says that firing the kitten was probably a bit harsh.
“I know Nick Denton runs a tight ship, but c’mon. Cats – especially kittens – need a ton of sleep during the day,” says Selznik. “If you’re going to hire cat reporters, you need to understand that napping is just par for the course.”
Other writers at Gawker say that the on-the-job naps weren’t what ultimately did Mittens in, however. Says one writer, who wished to remain anonymous, “Mittens had this coming for weeks. Her pageview counts were way too low.”
