Presidential pets are a long-held American tradition, and Socks – the Kitty-in-Chief from 1993 to 2001 – was known to occasionally usurp the limelight on the Clinton family.

Here now, we look back at his legacy in the White House.

Veganism Harder Than Anticipated for Cat

According to sources, Barry the cat is finding his newly adapted vegan diet much more difficult than expected. Always a health-conscious kitty, Barry is said to have taken the plunge sometime last week. Since then, it’s been a decidedly uphill battle.

“He really had no idea what he was getting into,” says Greg McCabe, a friend.  "I think he just assumed there’d be plenty of vegan cat food products readily available. Boy, was he wrong.“

Despite having to subsist on "mostly grass,” the cat is reported to have no apparent plans of quitting.

“He has a lot of pride,” says McCabe. “He’s not going to admit it was a bad decision. But he’ll come around. Eventually.”
