Rat’s Painting Sells for $850,000 at Auction
The latest abstract work by legendary painter Winston the rat has been sold at a Sotheby’s auction for a whopping $850,000. The painting, titled “Squeak,” is a clear extension of his Blue Period.
“The way the strokes cris-cross on the canvas – it’s as if he’s crying out for something real in a world full of pretense,” says art critic Simon Jennings. “Ah, who am I kidding, it’s just rat prints.”

Pug Enjoys Breakfast Al Fresco
There is nothing Wellesley the Pug, of the Newport Pugs, enjoys more on a crisp December Saturday morning than taking breakfast on the veranda of his wintertime villa in Hilton Head, SC.
“Wellesley works a very long and difficult week managing his family’s kibble factory holdings,” said family historian Vivian Swaggleblad. "Enjoying a quiet weekend breakfast in the cool salt air is one of his few personal concessions. It gives him time to unwind and relax.“

Dog Completely Overwhelmed by Choice
Buying a new tennis ball would be simple, thought Nina the border collie. Just go to the store and pick one out. But who knew tennis balls came in so many different varieties? Certainly, Nina knows now.
“She thought it would just be a quick trip to the store to grab a replacement ball after her last one lost all its fuzz,” said Allison Perkins, a source close to the situation. "But it took her four hours to pick out the perfect ball.“
Granted, conceded Perkins, things might have been easier on Nina had she not decided to shop at a store called Tennis Balls ‘R Us. "They clearly weren’t lying when they said they have the best selection of tennis balls in North America,” said Perkins.
