Dog Focus Groups Did Not Respond Favorably to Super Bowl Ads

February 10, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Advertisers spend millions to ensure their Super Bowl TV spots will be well-received by humans. But what about dogs?

After all, dogs make 67% of household purchasing decisions, according to an incredibly flawed survey by eMarketer.

In focus groups like the one recorded above, cultural references to Star Wars and Jerry Seinfeld were sadly lost on most dogs. Beatrice the bulldog, for example, reported no intention of buying a Volkswagen after seeing its latest spot. She’s more of a Mercedes girl, anyway.
